Through the course of the gig, the car was actually washed three times to ensure the paint was completely devoid of dirt, clay bar residue and polishing oils before laying down a coat of sealant. Below, the claybar has removed debris which contaminated the clear coat.
Tape is applied to plastic and rubber trim as well as emblems, grilles and some crevices to prevent polishing compound from getting embedded.
After many hours, the black paint looks dripping wet in the late afternoon sun. The exhaust tips were hand polished to improve luster and the trim was coated with a water based, UV-resistant gloss dressing.
