Chris's 1971 Pontiac LeMans Concours Show Car
Mileage: 75,000
Process: Stage III
This classic car restoration took
12 hours to go from faded and swirled paint to highly-reflective,
liquid-black. The process began with throughly washing the Pontiac's
body then clay barring it to remove any impurities in the soft paint.
The muscle car was washed again, then dried and all of the chrome and
plastic trim taped up to prevent any compound from getting into random
crevasses. For black to come to life from so much marring, it required
multiple machine polish steps. After one last wash to remove the
left-over compound, the beast was waxed and chrome was hand polished
to perfection.
